“One of Broadway’s most tried and true musical-making methods is to adapt an already well-liked movie. And it works for a reason. I think these five would lend themselves well to Broadway musical adaptations.”

I've always rejected this statement. While there is no doubt that for the past decades, performers of color have fought an uphill climb to be cast in ethnically open roles, times have changed enough that there is no longer an excuse for this slow progression."

Don’t be scared to ask for it. It is very hard to work on an accent alone because most of the time, we don’t hear it ourselves. So, don’t be scared of asking for some help. 

Aren't there always those parts you wish you could play? Those roles in shows you know you'd be damn amazing at but because you're the wrong gender, age or vocal range the chances of getting to play them are extremely low...or non-existent! As a generic white female of an alto/mezzo range in her 20s, here are just some of the parts I wish I could play and why.

Hi my name is Alex and I am a Millennial. Something I really hate to admit. 

As a performer and a theatre goer and fellow millennial, I have seen the decline in the audience member. They have no clue as to how to behave at a show. And to be perfectly honest the "normal" theatre goer is dying out. I also blame social media and reality TV, and guess what? I blame my fellow Millennial's. Our attention spans suck.
