'Fun Home' Begins Streaming Performances Today

The Tony-winning musical Fun Home is set to be streamed online for two weeks.

The show, based on Alison Bechdel’s graphic memoir, will be online from May 12-24 on the Victory Gardens Theatre website. The Chicago theatre is sharing its production from 2017, directed by Gary Griffin. It will cost $20 to view.

Fun Home became the first Broadway musical to feature a lesbian protagonist when it debuted in 2015.

Bechdel’s book was published in 2006 and has since gone on to become one of the most famous contemporary graphic novels in the world. It tells the story of Bechdel growing up in a funeral home run by her father, as well as her coming of age and awareness of both her and her father's sexuality.
