I would like you to meet the wonderful Todd Buonopane. This very talented man is currently on the road performing in the National Tour of The Play That Goes Wrong performing the role of Dennis.

“Zachary Harris Martin has been an actor for almost all his life. The Canadian performer grew up doing theater in his native Toronto and later studied at Sarah Lawrence College. Since graduation, he’s worked steadily, performing in Off-Broadway shows, regional musicals, summer stock productions and staged readings. With “Hazing U: A Modern Greek Tragedy” Martin has added a new column to his resume: playwright.”

I would like you to meet the wonderful Samantha Pauly. Ms. Pauly will be making her Broadway debut in SIX as Katherine Howard. SIX is one of the most clever concepts that has come to Broadway in years and I can strongly say that it is a privilege to have the chance to interview Samantha.  

It is a great joy that I introduce you to the oh so talented Sarah Lasko. Ms. Lasko is currently serving as a Swing in The Sound of Music at The Asolo Repertory Theatre directed by Josh Rhodes. I first met Sarah over 10 years ago when we performed together in amateur productions of Urinetown and A Year with Frog and Toad.

I would like you to meet Judith Franklin. Judith is currently performing in the ensemble of TINA - The Tina Turner Musical at The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on Broadway! In 2017 Ms. Franklin toured the country in "Motown the Musical" and in 2018 she made her Broadway debut in "Summer: The Donna Summer Musical". It was such a privilege to have the chance to interview such a talented and gifted artist!

Collaboration is the foundation of all theater-making, but how does it work when that collaboration extends far beyond the proscenium? For lighting designer Ben Stanton and video projection designer Lucy Mackinnon, their partnership started while working together on a regional show in Washington, DC. The two have also been married for five years and are parents to two young children. While they worked separately on many projects, two both say they always work best when working together.

I would like you to meet Jarrod Lee! Jarrod is performing in the Chorus of Porgy and Bess at The Metropolitan Opera. Some of Jarrod’s recent opera performances include Henry in Street Scene with the Maryland Opera Studio, Sacristan in Tosca with Maryland Symphony Orchestra, Marchese in Traviata with Annapolis Opera and the Baron, a Señor, and a Judge in Candide with Washington National Opera. It truly brings me great joy to have the chance to showcase one of many talented artists gracing the stage at The Metropolitan Opera in this Gershwin classic!  

It is a great pleasure of mine to introduce you to Aaron Reeder. Aaron is performing in the chorus of Porgy and Bess at The Metropolitan Opera. I met Aaron over ten years ago when we were performing in Maryland together for The Maryland Opera Society. Aaron truly has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever come across.

In Blue, the latest production written and directed by Ran Xia, is being presented at The Tank as part of their director in residence program this December.  The play is based on the mostly letter correspondence based relationship between painter Franz Marc and poet Else Lasker Schuler. 

October is officially the spookiest month of the year. There is no shortage of chilling plays, concerts, movies and live performances that will satisfy the horror fan in all of us.

Fabulist Theatre is no different, but are taking a unique twist on a literary classic. I chatted with Adam Darts (adapter of Dracula) and Damon Bradley Jang (Director and Fabulist Co-Artistic Producer)

It is such a joy to introduce you to Alannah Garnier. I have known Alannah my entire life ever since I was 5 years old living in Minnesota. We came up together at the Church of Christ in Minneapolis and fast forward about 25-26 years later, we are now both performing in the same show at The Met. It is such a true thrill for me to have a chance to interview this amazing Soprano.  

Kayla Dunbar is a Vancouver Theatre Award Winning actor, director, and choreographer. I had the chance to.talk to her about her latest project with Patrick Street Productions: Herringbone the musical.

I would like you to meet Rachel Zampelli. This talented actress can currently be seen in Assassins at Signature Theatre in Virginia where she is playing the role of Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme.

I would like to introduce you to DeShawn Bowens. Mr. Bowens will be making his Touring debut pretty soon in the upcoming National Tour of Mean Girls performing in the ensemble.

There’s a groundbreaking new musical at Ma-Yi Theatre Company featuring an all-Filipino cast and creative team. Felix Starro by Jessica Hagedorn and Fabian Obispo, based on the short story by Lysley Tenorio, is the first time a musical by and with Filipino Americans is being performed Off-Broadway.

It is my honor to introduce you to the amazing Alysha Umphress. Anyone who has heard Alysha’s voice knows that I am not exaggerating when I say that she truly has one of the best voices in the business. Alysha will be starring as Jessie in Scotland, PA at the Roundabout Theatre Company’s Laura Pels Theatre, which begin performances on September 14th.
