Hi my name is Alex and I am a Millennial. Something I really hate to admit. 

As a performer and a theatre goer and fellow millennial, I have seen the decline in the audience member. They have no clue as to how to behave at a show. And to be perfectly honest the "normal" theatre goer is dying out. I also blame social media and reality TV, and guess what? I blame my fellow Millennial's. Our attention spans suck. 

“Since its premiere, many of us in the theatre community have long known just how great “Angels in America” is, but given recent events, I think there is plenty of good reason to start looking at the long-term impact and legacy of this play in a new light.”

Auditions.  We’ve all been there.   Trying to channel your nervous energy into a productive adrenaline.   Hoping to put your best foot forward.   Wanting to make a great first impression.    Anxiously waiting until your number is called.   Finally, taking the stage for a minute or two, and giving it your best shot.   Maybe you get another chance to read.  Maybe even a callback.  And then waiting … and waiting … and hoping and praying.   Hopefully, you got the part, but more often than not, you didn’t.   So, what went wrong?  What, if anything, can you learn from this experience?

Students especially need adults who are willing to go into the trenches with them and love them through it. This is what we can offer our students in high school theater programs, and this is what they, in turn, will offer the future generations.

“Growing professionally is something that every person needs and wants. If at the start of your professional life or career there is a way to grow, an opportunity to use to gain experience – I don’t see why to say no to it. “

From “Once” to “Frozen,” tons of famous movie musicals (or movies with music in them) have been adapted to Broadway recently. Stage musical adaptations build upon already good movie musicals by adding more songs and scenes. There are tons of movie musicals that haven’t gotten this treatment, but really deserve it. Here are my top five picks.
