‘Angel’ is an exalted work of music and dance worthy of Milton, Rilke, and a superb cast.

Glorious to hear and divinely to see, Opera Atelier’s production of Handel’s ‘The Resurrection’ becomes a triumphant and dazzling spectacle of sight and sound with a strong underlying tone that darkness will cease and lightness will shine forever

Conductor David Fallis beautifully guided the diverse orchestra right from the luscious overture.  As majestic as the music was, it was also entertaining to see some playful banter between Fallis and some of the artists on stage.

The one act opera in three parts celebrates the lives of ten disparate and, in a variety of ways, desperate characters who, having each reached their tipping points, decide to visit the mob-owned Stonewall Inn which is about to reach its own tipping point during the pre-ordained and politically motivated raid on the only “safe haven” for the members of the LGBTQ+ communities.
