Factory has just announced its 2021/2022 season. Good things are happening here as I always look forward to this theatre’s slate.

As a result of the pandemic, Artistic Director Joel Greenberg stated how fitting it is to turn the theatre into a refuge, a balm, and a resting place with stories this Fall of 2021 that “challenge our assumptions, as the plays' characters are themselves challenged to understand themselves and their values in a world that refuses to stand still.”

“In light of COVID-19, MAM Fest will be a virtual celebration of mixed Asian & Pacific Islanders, who express themselves through creative art forms — including film, theatre, art, dance, and more! The festival will take place on the platform Bizzabo.”

Micki Grant, the first woman to write the book, lyrics, and score for a musical, and the first woman to win a Grammy award for a Broadway cast recording, had died at the age of 80.

Our summer company of artists feature…guest artists Amanda Jane Smith and James Dallas Smith. Amanda has previously appeared with Theatre on the Ridge in The Valley (2019) and God of Carnage (2015) and plays Maureen Poole in Cottagers and Indians. She is joined by James Dallas Smith playing Arthur Copper. In 2019, James was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore award for outstanding performance for his work in Soulpepper Theatre’s production of Almighty Voice and His Wife.
